Description
“Sabbath-School Missionary Leaflet: The People of the New Hebrides [Vanuatu]. Natives of the Free Church Island, Aneityum [Anatom]. No. LV. May 1890.” Front of a four-page leaflet focussing on the people of Aneityum and Futuna and printed by Frank Murray, 9 and 11 Young Street, Edinburgh. The image is a print from a wood engraving based upon a photograph of four indigenous elders of the mission church in the same album (part ref.9). This may be the original photograph with additional figures being added later for the purpose of ‘representing all sections of natives on Aneityum’ as the text claims.
