Description
"'Moderne Beförderungsmittel der Missionare.' Br. Rietzsch auf der Ipyana-Mwayareise. Mai 1935." ("'Modern means of transportation of missionaries.' Brother Rietzsch on the way from Ipyana to Mwaya in May 1935."). Two indigenous men (with their backs to the photographer) carry another man across a creek.
Franz Rietzsch (1902-1978) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. He served in East Africa from 1931until 1939. He married Hanna Seibt in 1931. -- Ernst Waldner (1898-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa. He married Julie Friederike Ebinger.
