Description
Photograph of the Memorial Arch and statues at Stanford University, ca.1900. Several paved walkways divide the grass in the foreground and lead to a statue sitting on a wide pedestal at center. The statue depicts two men and a woman and the American flag can be seen waving above it in the background. Two other statues stand in the grass on either side of the first statue with corridors lined with archways on the far left and right. At center, beyond the first statue, the tall, lightly-colored, stone Memorial Arch stands with an intricate carving of people and horses across the top. Trees can be seen through the opening of the Arch in the background.
