Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated February 6, 1947 reads, "Lawrence Alegria of 8515 Tobias ave., Van Nuys, feeds a New Hampshire Red pullet in his chicken yard hoping for another giant production from the little 'egg factory.' The chicken stands by her huge egg, measuring eight and ten inches in circumference, which is compared to a normal sized egg next to it. It is said to be one of the largest eggs on record for the breed."
