Description
The Rosemount Grill sits at 3145 Folsom Boulevard in this 1945 photograph. Founded by Yugoslavian immigrant Peter Valerio in 1914 at 1011 Ninth Street, the Rosemount quickly became a Sacramento institution. It moved to the pictured location in 1945. The restaurant's namesake was an eatery that Valerio recalled seeing in Leadville, Colorado, en route to California. After 75 years in operation, the restaurant closed in January 1989, nearly a year after the death of founder Valerio.
