Description
Color postcard of "The Old Stone Mill." First building in Los Gatos, California. Forbes Mill was built in 1854 along the banks of Los Gatos Creek by James Alexander Forbes. The town of Los Gatos later grew up around it. Although the main mill building no longer exists, the smaller annex in front is now a museum.

Master images scanned at 300 dpi and scaled to 6000 pixels on the longest side. Bit depth: grayscale at 8-bit; color at 24-bit. Images compressed to 800 pixels across the long dimension and to JPEG format. Scanning outsourced to Luna Imaging Inc. as part of an LSTA Grant funded by the California State Library in 2003-2004. Scanning hardware is unknown.
