Insert from commemorative issue of the San Jose Mercury News featuring reprints of the front page of the San Jose Telegraph for September 17, 1859 and a page from the Telegraph for April 16, 1860, "1860 -- San Jose Gets News by First Pony Express." In addition are current ads for Robert F. Benson, Stern's Leather Goods, Bettencourt Markets, and a full-page ad sponsored by the American Federation of Labor -- Central Labor Council & Building Trades Council of Santa Clara County.
