After the plant closed, it was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. UAW (United Automobile Workers) who worked at the Ford Pico Rivera Plant stand at the gate with pickets and petitions for persuading the auto manufacturer to convert the plant to a small car production instead of permanent shutdown.
