Description
This circa 1982 postcard shows the official gubernatorial portrait of Governor of Edmund G. "Jerry" Brown, who served as California's chief officer from 1975 to 1983. This rendering of Brown was done by artist Don Bachardy. When released, the quasi-abstract work drew the criticism of many statewide who were accustomed to a heritage of artistic realism.
