Photograph caption dated March 3, 1965 reads, Film star Shirley MacLaine planed to Kansas City today via TWA, where she will take top honors at the United Theatre Owners of America convention tomorrow, being named 'International Star of the Year' by the sponsoring organization representing more than 1500 theatre owners throughout the United States. She will appear in person to receive the huge International trophy before the convention of thousands of showmen, representing 40 states and 12 foreign countries. It is Miss MacLaine's 'consistent box office strength' which won her this coveted honor, particularly her starring roles in 'What a Way to Go!' and Irma La Douce,' it was pointed out by Jay Wooten, UTO President.
