Photograph caption dated May 8, 1958 reads "Cloaked in silver-colored canvas, intercontinental ballistic missile Atlas was trucked down Ventura boulevard in Encino today bound for Camp Cooke Air Force Missile Training Center near Santa Cruz. This was first Atlas to appear on Valley streets and will mark first delivery to Air Force's new Pacific testing range."
