Description
Sealed cans are conveyed to a battery of retorts for the cooking and cooling process. Also known as pressure cookers or pressure canners, retorts were used to sterilize the product. Stamped on the side of one vessel: "Built by Gardner Mfg. Co."
Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPG format using Photoshop CS3.
