Photograph caption dated September 19, 1958 reads, "Ground was broken today for a new $30,000 permanent frame and stucco building at 17702 Sierra Highway, one mile north of Solemint Junction with Mint Canyon and San Fernando bankers turning the first shovelfull [sic] of dirt. Group above, from left, are Kenneth Lynch, Eugene Rinaldi, bank manager; Assemblyman Allen Miller, Dr. E. J. Phillips and Dan Pryor, contractor for the project. Set-back lines for the new bank provides for off-street parking facilities. D. P. Loomis, president of the San Fernando Valley Commercial & Savings Bank and Dr. Phillips spearheaded the move to bring the bank to Mint Canyon."
