Description
Photograph of the Hollywood National Bank on the northeast corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Cahuenga Avenue, California, ca.1911. The two-story building, boasting its name across the front in a panel that separates the two floors, is visible behind the back end of a passing early automobile. Some of the windows of the upper story have cloth canopies unfurled for shade. Below, a bicycle rests against the entrance to the bank. Several other early automobiles are parked along the sidewalk. To the left, a man in a horse-drawn carriage is visible. Behind him, another house with what appears to be a belltower can be seen, along with one of the two telephone poles in the scene, located to either side of the bank.
