Bound in textured black material. The title "Yoshimatsu Nakata" is embossed in the center of the cover in gold lettering. Images are those collected, and some possibly taken, by the Londons' valet of eight years, Yoshimatsu Nakata. Nakata accompanied the Londons on the Snark voyage, Roamer river cruises and their journey and the Northwest via horse-drawn carriage. Album is very fragile and worn. Front cover and exterior spine have become detached from album, many pages are loose in album. There are small tears in the spine at each corner and at the upper right edge. A piece of string has been laced over the exterior of spine and through the interior backing material. Captions are written in Charmian London's hand, but in the first person. It is possible that London transcribed Nakata's own captions from the back of photos before mounting. Most images are duplicated in other albums, but there are a few that are original to the album, of family members and sites in the South Pacific.
