Early automobiles speed across the intersection in the foreground, while pedestrians in the lower left and right corners watch. At center, a cable car makes its way down the street, surrounded by the commercial buildings on the blocks to either side. To the right, the El Ja Arms Hotel can be seen, cars parked along its sidewalk in front.
