Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Title supplied by cataloger.; Image is a reproduction. Annie J. Budak was born in Turkey on September 1, 1945 and came to Southern California in 1980 with her husband. In 1982, her parents and two brothers immigrated from Istanbul to be with her. Annie lived in Glendale and moved to Northridge in 1987. She lived through the 1994 quake, but her house was destroyed, and she moved back to Glendale. Annie Budak's sons at SeaWorld in 1995.
