Description
Photograph of Spring Street north from Ninth Street during the La Fiesta Parade, ca.1906. Four decorative horse-drawn carriages proceed down Spring towards the camera, with what appear to be dancers trailing them. The first carriage is led by two people on foot holding the reigns of the horses. What appear to be two sets of trolleycar tracks are visible embedded in the road. A crowd stands to either side of the street, and to the extreme right bleachers are partially visible, also filled with spectators. Buildings are only visible to the right of the street in the photograph, beginning with a small, one-story shop covered in signs and continuing down the street to a two-story building topped with a spire about halfway down. The buildings continue increasing in height and terminate with a building of at least five stories obscuring any building that might be seen behind it. Telephone poles are also visible along this side of the street. Photoprint identifies "Tom Wright, in front buggy".
