Photograph caption dated November 21, 1957 reads "Upper photo [pictured] shows big group of Valley League varsity cross country runners just after take-off in yesterday's all-league meet at Pierce Junior College. Lower photo catches the incredible Tim Roelen of San Fernando and his coach Al Arps as he nears finish line all alone. Roelen won race, Canoga Park took meet."
