Fogalsang and Raplee's exhibit is pictured at the 1895 California State Fair. The electricians' shop was located at 1109 10th St. On July 13, just weeks before the fair's opening, the nation's first hydroelectric alternating-current power station transmitted electricity a distance of 22 miles from Folsom to Station A at Sixth and H streets.
