Description
Photograph of the mole protecting Zeebrugge Canal in Belgium, ca.1915-1919. The large pier stretches out into the ocean at left and wraps around to the right. It is made of concrete and there are brick and wooden posts supporting it. Several large steel ships are tied up along the mole. There is a buoy in the center. The roof of a U-boat submarine shelter extends from the mole at center. The mole was the target of a British raid in 1918.
