This is the advice of Charles M. Pierce of Burbank, inventor of a slanting board exerciser. Born in Morris, ILL., in 1866, Pierce came to Hollywood 50 years ago from Oregon, where he was a bank manager. He bought the first hotel in Hollywood, located at Yucca and Ivar Sts., and got installation of the community's first telephone. Burbank has been his home for the past 11 years. During this time he has produced and distributed more than 11,000 of his boards. They are now in use all over the United States, Canada, and the Hawaiian Islands." Photograph caption reads, "This is way Burbanker thinks more clearly, gains health. Charles M. Pierce, inventor of slanting board exerciser, show how it is done."
