This hotel was formerly the Painter Hotel, and was built in 1887 at the corner of Fair Oaks Avenue and Washington Boulevard, Pasadena. The name was changed to La Pintoresca Hotel around 1891 (see notes). This view shows the front facing onto Fair Oaks Avenue, with palm trees at the sidewalk and foliage around the porch. Note with item: This was originally the Painter Hotel located on the northwest corner of Fair Oaks Ave. and Washington St. It was opened in 1888 and subsequently called the New Hotel Pasadena and La Pintoresca Hotel.
