Title supplied by cataloger. Ezequiel Padilla, Mexico's Secretary for Foreign Relations and former Washington ambassador, visited Los Angeles in May, 1945. During his visit, he was honored at a special Cinco de Mayo ceremony held at Los Angeles City Hall. Some other prominent guests at the event included: Mayor Fletcher Bowron, Mexican Consul General Col. Vicente Peralta, and Bishop Joseph T. McGucken. Two children are seen on the Spring Street steps of the Los Angeles City Hall, where about forty thousand people attended a special Cinco de Mayo celebration. The small blanket they are holding up has the Mexican Coat of Arms in the center.
