Newsprint photograph: Scene from an early picture play, “Miss Jerry” (incorrectly credited in this caption as “The first moving picture feature made back in 1894.” Alexander Black’s “Miss Jerry” was a picture play [a series of photographic slides projected at 4 per minute, by a magic lantern.
