Photograph caption dated April 16, 1948 reads, "One of the outstanding performers in the Sylmar horse show and barbecue fiesta at Sunset Farms tomorrow and Sunday will be Ella Mae Shofner, shown with her three-gaited American saddle bred [sic] mare, Rose Marie Kirby. Miss Shofner's stable will be represented in the show."
