The Burbank Community Hospital, later renamed the Thompson Memorial Hospital, was demolished in 2001 to make room for a senior living complex. Photograph caption dated September 29, 1959 reads, "Approximately one million dollars have been expended in a program, started in 1955, to expand and modernize the Burbank Hospital, 466 E. Olive Ave. The 75-bed, non-profit osteopathic institution is a fully accredited teaching facility and has a staff of nine house physicians plus an attending and consulting staff of 140 doctors."
