Description: This circa 1965 photograph shows librarians Helen Schweiss (left) and Dorothy Drake at the Mabel Gillis Branch of the Sacramento City Library, located at 4001 Sixtieth Street. Schweiss was the branch’s first librarian, moving over from the nearby Colonial Heights branch. Drake, a native of Idaho, served as City/County Librarian from 1958 to 1971.
