Hudson, college student and driver of one of the cars, is shown on the stand at the trial of Busby Berkeley, famed film dance director, charged with second-degree murder in the crash. Hudson, at left, is examining photos of the crash. In center is Defense Attorney Jerry Giesler. At right is Deputy District Attorney David Coleman."" Berkeley was on trial for manslaughter after he was involved in a car crash where two women, Ada von Briesen and Peggy Daley, died in September 1935. Two trials resulted in hung juries, and he was acquitted after a third trial.
