Crate label for Embarcadero Brand Fancy Santa Clara Pears packed by the Gallagher Fruit Company in San Jose, California. The design features an illustration of two hanging pears, a waterfront, and rolling hills of orchards. Fruits were often displayed in their crates in grocery stores and markets, so crate labels were designed to stand out and appeal to the customer's eye.
