A Chinese village of stone huts with thatched roofs is on a prairie in front of a mountain. A few local villagers and a small animal herd can be seen in the distance.
This photo is from the papers of the Edward Huntington Smith family, American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions missionaries in China, 1901-1950, primarily in Ing Tai and Foochow [Fuzhou].
