Exterior view of the former estate of Greek-born Alexander Pantages (1867-1936), located at 590 N. Vermont Ave. The Los Angeles Jewish Council has purchased the large building to turn it into a cultural and educational center. As a community center, it will house 40 different agencies and the Jewish Community Council. Photo dated: January 3, 1947.
