A fiberglass statue, lower left, at La Brea Tar Pits represents an Ice Age mastodon stuck in The Lake Pit asphalt seep at sunset in November 1982. Various office and commercial buildings, including the Mutual Life Benefit Plaza, right, are present across Wilshire Boulevard.
