Text of signage: "Within these premises are found the ruins of many important monuments including the Audience Hall of King Nissankamalla. This has also been identified as the location of the Dipauyana (Island Park) built by King Parākramabāhu the Great (1153-1186 AD). The bathing pond to the extreme south may be Ananta Naga Pokuna built by him. King Nissankamalla built his audience hall within this park and renamed it Kalinga Uyana [Kalinga Park, with a reference to his own heritage]. Near this garden are the ruins of something like a summer house built in the Parakrama Samudra."
