Description
Shown in this circa 1930 postcard is what was once referred to as Burns Slough, just beyond the Sacramento city limits. It became East Park after the Sacramento Street Railroad Company bought the property east of Thirtieth Street in 1870 and fashioned it as an amusement area to which locals could ride a trolley. It was eventually renamed McKinley Park.
