Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the old Whaling Station at Monterey, the first brick building in California, ca.1900. A two-story building can be seen at center, while two other buildings can be seen to the left of it behind a picket fence. A wooden slat fence on the right has writing on it. The fence was repaired at some point and the slats put back on not in the original order. A dirt road is visible in the foreground. Legible signs include: "A.
