Photograph of the old County Courthouse clock tower, as the demolition process of the Courthouse begins. "Photo taken from City hall tower, looking westward, showing dismantling of old Courthouse clock tower. Intersection of Hill and Temple in background. -- Examiner photo" -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated, "February 24, 1932 [sic]". "Tearing down tower of the old Court House" -- a part of Examiner print slip attached to the clipping, dated, "February 23, 1932 [sic]". Streetscape. Horizontal photography. Please note that despite the date on verso, the Second Court House was damaged in the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. Demolition did not begin until 1935 (when the tower and top two floors were removed), and was completed in 1936.
