Photograph of Newhall area intersection near present scene of freeways, ca.1930. In the foreground at left, a paved road can be seen extending to the far right. The road also splits and curves to the left out of view around a large cliff wall. A series of utility poles can be seen running along the middle of the image, along the intersection of the two roads. Tot he far right, two automobiles can be seen near a small bridge. Tall mountain ranges can be seen in the extreme background. Intersection of roads near later intersection of Golden State/Antelope/Sierra Freeways. Photoprint reads: "Southern Pacific Railroad runs through the canyon under the bridge at right. The road in the foreground leads to Newhall. The road that curves around the hill towards the left leads to Pasadena."
