A crowd of men and women look into one direction at a campaign rally for presidential candidate Mario Sandoval Alarcón of the National Liberation Movement (MLN) in Chiquimula. Many in the crowd are wearing hats and caps with MLN images. Carlos Castillo Armas founded the MLN in 1954 after a CIA-supported coup d'etat against democratically elected President Jacobo Árbenz.
