Description
Photograph of a view of Palisades Park in Santa Monica, looking south from the Palisades, ca.1920. A broad sandy stretch of beach is seen at right, and bordering this beach is a two-lane highway. Running parallel to the road is a railroad. The steep cliffs that give their name to the park are at left, and there is a small wooden building at the top at left, overlooking the ocean. In addition to this structure, the cliffs are covered with an assortment of trees and bushes. There is a long pier jutting out into the water in the distance. A thatch hut is visible at the edge of the cliffs at left.
