On neg.: "225 ft. high 1500 electric lamps" On back: "Tower designed by J. J. Owen and John Gash - architect. Ground broken Aug. 11, 1881, cost $3500. Electricity turned on 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12, 1881. Collapsed 11:55 am Dec. 1915" Located at Market Street and Santa Clara Street.
