Description
Photo shows a portion of the mob of 1500 as they sought to smash in the doors and enter the Tijuana Federal building in an attempt to seize a suspect in the attack-murder of an 8-year old girl. Shortly after this picture, they set fire to the building and also the city jail, where they thought the slayer, along with four other men held for questioning, was jailed. After starting the fire, the mob battled federal and state troops to prevent them quelling the blaze. Photo dated: February 15, 1938.
