Photograph caption dated August 25, 1960 reads "Preparations for 'South Seas Adventure,' final summer dance at Birmingham High School, are made by members of Ladies honor-service club, from left, Dale Moen, historian; Ellen Comer, president, and Chris Hjorth, all 17. Event, open to all Valley teenagers, was staged in chapel building on Van Nuys campus. Various Birmingham clubs sponsored the weekly summer activities."
