Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. In 1961, Judge Landau presided over the trial of Nazi colonel Adolf Eichmann, who was found guilty of 15 criminal charges, including crimes against humanity and war crimes. Eichmann, the only person to have been executed in Israel on conviction by a civilian court, was executed by hanging in 1962.
