Description
The label for Everywoman Brand Pears features an illustration of a 1920s woman with bobbed hair preparing a meal. The title "Everywoman" suggests that the can of pears is appropriate for the modern woman. In 1913 Victor Greco organized the Greco Canning Company and opened a cannery at Howard and Autumn Streets in San Jose, California. During World War I Greco was the largest packer of tomatoes in the world. The Greco Canning Company ceased operations in 1938.
