Description
Loyalist mural at Canmore Street/Shankill Road, West Belfast. Mural represents 90 years of history of UVF from its origins in the anti-Home Rule agitation of 1912 to its role in 2002 as paramilitary and, through its links to the Progressive Unionist Party, political organisation. 'The People's Army 1912-2002 - 90 Years of Resistance'. Detail shows copy of a scene from the painting 'Battle of the Somme, the Attack of the Ulster Division' by J.P. Beadle. '1916 ~ 9th R.I.R. (West Belfast U.V.F.) go over the top at the Somme".
