Description
The brick and mortar Sacramento High School is the subject of this circa 1910 postcard. Located at L Street, between Eighteenth and Nineteenth streets, the four story school was built in 1908, and contained 35 classrooms for a capacity of 800 students. With Sacramento's meteoric growth after World War I, the school's enrollment surged to 1,000, prompting demands for a new school building that would come along in 1924.
