Description: Image of a small monument to the 93rd Pennsylvania Infantry sitting on top of a boulder. The boulder has had carved into it: 3rd Brig. 3rd Div. / 6th Corps. / July 2nd & 3rd 1863. The monument has: Erected by / the surviving members / of the regiment. / Oct. 30th 1884. At the bottom of the photograph, on the left in white, is the number: 849. The photograph has been affixed to a card with the photographer's signature and "Gettysburg, Pa." printed in gold lettering at the bottom.
Secondary monument. One of the numerous monuments erected on the Gettysburg battlefield to honor the soldiers who fought and died in this decisive battle.

Provenance: Lindsey M. Gould, a Civil War veteran, acquired the photographs in the 1880s as a keepsake of his war experience. At Mr. Gould’s death around 1919, the entire collection went to his close friend Herbert W. Singleton. The collection remained in the Singleton family until May 2001 when the Huntington Library acquired it through a gift and purchase arrangement.
