Photograph of aerial view of flooded area of Arroyo Seco at Avenue 43, 1938. In the background at center, a wide river can be seen extending from the far left to the right. The river separates two sections large sections of residential city blocks. At the center of the river along the opposite bank, a damaged roadway can be seen. To the far right, a portion of the river can be seen overflowing into the adjacent streets. A large section of water and mud can be seen covering many of the streets near the clusters of homes. The mud and water can be seen extending from the river into foreground at right. In the foreground at left, winding streets can be seen on a mountain.
