(RI) - Bildlegende im Album: "Missionar Ramseyer und Frau am Fuss eines Onyina-Baumes. - Dieser Baum, mit stacheliger Rinde, ist derjenige aus welchem die Eingeborenen ihre Kähne verfertigen. Die Frucht bildet eine Kapsel, die eine Art Seidenwolle enthält, welche zu Kopfkissen verwendet wird." (RI). - Nicht klar, ob Kumase oder Abetifi. (PST).
Note translation: Published as no 39 in the album 'Eighty pictures of the Goldcoast (West Africa) by the missionary Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchâtel 1895. - Caption in the album: "The missionary Ramseyer with wife at the foot of an Onyina tree. - This is the tree with a thorny bark out of which the natives make their boats. The capsule of the fruit contains a kind of cotton-wool which is used for cushions." - For same place same scene see photo D-30.16.057. (PST). - Not clear whether Kumase or Abetifi. (PST).
